How to run a meeting

How to run a meeting:
- Begin on time.
- Don’t start a meeting without first setting a time to stop.
- Go over the agenda in front of everyone.
- Delegate to one or more people any item that might take more time than is allotted for it.
- Don’t have meetings that last longer than 2 hours.
- Be a bear about interruptions.
- Transform as many meetings as possible into telephone calls or quick conversations in the hall.

Why Ego is Your New Best Friend?

Whenever you hear about an ego being talked about, isn’t it usually in a bad way? I hear a lot about how “a big ego is bad for you,” and while I believe it’s true to some regard, I have to disagree more than I agree. Today, I want to talk to you about why a big ego is something you should embrace.

Trust me, I hate seeing people who are too cocky and absolutely in love with themselves. But, is there something actually wrong with really loving yourself and what you do? Is it wrong to think you are better than someone at something when you clearly are? I don’t think there is anything wrong with those things. I just think it’s wrong in certain situations to show how much you love yourself, and wrong to say you are actually better than someone.
If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it all.
The above quote is definitely one you have heard if you attended primary school and behaved unacceptably. I think it ties perfectly into the point I really want to get across in this article.

Think about it like this.
If Team Member A thinks he is better at work than Team Member B is, he should continue to think that if that’s what builds his ego. But, he should never tell Team Member B how much better he thinks he is, or ever hint to anyone about what he thinks. In other words, keep it to his self. Why? Because it comes off as rude and many people will hate you for that. But no one will hate you for what you don’t show.
Why Build Your Ego Up Anyways?
The most beneficial thing about an ego is how it can inspire you. If you think you are just this Team Member A who is happy with the way your work is going, then I say continue on thinking that. Just don’t let those thoughts blind you from seeing anything that could be wrong with your work. And always use that motivation you get from your ego to keep building and expanding, so you can keep getting better.
What do you think?
I even raised my own eyebrows at some of the things I said in this article, so I can only wonder what you guys have to think about all of this.Do you agree with me on these ideas? Let me know, because I need a good ego boost right about now.
